Vol. 37 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Co. Limerick Relief Schemes.

asked the Minister for Lands and Fisheries whether he will state what works his Department propose to undertake in County Limerick out of the moneys provided by the Relief Schemes Vote in order to give much-needed relief to the unemployed in the County Limerick.

Work is about to be undertaken by means of moneys provided out of the Relief Schemes Vote on the construction and repair of a bog road at Derreen, County Limerick.

asked the Minister for Lands and Fisheries if he will state what works have been undertaken, and where they are situated, by the Land Commission, out of the Relief Schemes Grant in conjunction with the Longford County Council; also, if he will state the amount of money put up by the Longford County Council in each case.

The Land Commission have not undertaken out of the Relief Schemes Vote and works in conjunction with the Longford County Council.

asked the Minister for Lands and Fisheries if he will state whether his Department has received petitions and memoranda from the Westmeath County Council requesting special works to be undertaken out of the Relief Schemes Vote at his disposal; and if he is aware that in one of them, the work at Clonave, Coole, the County Council are prepared to put up £250 towards the cost; and, if so, whether his Department will give a grant.

Applications have been received for the construction of a road and bridge at Clonave, Coole, and were considered in connection with the Relief Scheme in Co. Westmeath, but having regard to the cost of the proposed work and the amount of money available it has been found impossible to undertake it.
