Vol. 37 No. 12

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Gaile (Tipperary) Estate.

asked the Minister for Lands and Fisheries if he will state what is the total net balance in the hands of the Irish Land Commission owing to the retention in their hands for the past three years of the estate of Major Philips, at Gaile, Co. Tipperary; and what it is proposed to do with such balance; whether it will be retained and spent locally for buildings, fences, roads and developments on that estate.

The Land Commission will not be in a position to state what balance of income, if any, will remain on the Philip's estate until the scheme for the division of the lands of Gaile has been settled and the lands allotted. Any necessary improvements will be effected by the Land Commission out of the money provided for improvement of estates.
