Vol. 39 No. 13

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Division of Tipperary Lands.

asked the Minister for Lands and Fisheries if he will state when he intends to divide the lands of Gaile and Ballinard, County Tipperary; and whether, in view of the fact that the prospective allottees are prepared to pay the half-year's annuity for the period ended first half, say, 1931, as well as the rates for the current half-year the Land Commission will make allotments at once (say within the next fortnight); and whether arrangements will be made for the future tenants to take over the hay, etc.

Schemes for the division of the lands of Gaile (Phillips estate) and Ballinard (Baker estate) have been approved, and it is proposed to put them into operation very shortly.

Would the Parliamentary Secretary give a definite date?

I cannot.

If the scheme is gone through surely he should be able to give us a definite date. Inspectors come down there at least once a week and sometimes twice a week and nothing is done.
