Vol. 39 No. 17

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Electricity Supply Board and Electric Mains.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he is aware that the Electricity Supply Board has demanded that house builders in the suburbs of Dublin should pay for the extension and strengthening of electric mains; that the Dublin and District House Builders' Association are strongly of opinion that this is capital expenditure, and should be undertaken by the Board; and if he will make representations to the Board in the matter.

I understand that some such question has arisen. In my view it is a question simply of the economics of local electricity supply and one for the exercise of the Board's own judgment, as to which representations from us would not be appropriate.
