Ceisteanna.—Questions. Oral Answers. - Importation of Electric Batteries and Accumulators.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce whether he will state the numbers and value of six-volt and twelve-volt electric storage batteries imported into the Saorstát for the years ended 31st March, 1927, 1928, 1929, 1930 and 1931, and, further, the number of motor cars, new and second-hand, for the same periods.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce whether he will state the numbers and value of accumulators other than those used on motors imported into the Saorstát for the years ended 31st March, 1927, 1928, 1929, 1930, and 1931.

The number of new and second-hand motor touring cars imported in each period of twelve months April to March in the past five years was:—

Information is not available for the number or value of the imports of accumulators for use on motor cars, as distinct from certain other accessories for motor cars which are included under a general heading in the official import list for motor car accessories; nor is information available for accumulators other than those for use in motor cars as distinct from batteries, accumulators and parts (not for dutiable use) and wireless telegraphy accessories in which such other accumulators are included with other imports.
