In Committee on Finance. - Housing (Miscellaneous Provisions) Bill, 1931—Money Resolution.

I move:

That for the purpose of any Act of the present Session to make better provision for the clearance of unhealthy areas and the repair and demolition of insanitary houses; to amend the Housing of the Working Classes (Ireland) Acts, 1890 to 1921; the Labourers (Ireland) Acts, 1883 to 1930; the Small Dwellings Acquisition (Ireland) Acts, 1899 and 1919, and the Housing Acts, 1925 to 1930; and to make further provision for the financial assistance of local authorities and others in the provision of housing accommodation under those enactments as amended by this Act, and for purposes connected with the matters aforesaid, it is expedient to authorise the payment of moneys provided by the Oireachtas of (a) contributions not exceeding the amounts and over periods not exceeding the periods specified in such Act, and of (b) grants subject to the limitations and conditions specified in such Act."
