Vol. 40 No. 19

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Acquisition of Roscommon Lands.

asked the Minister for Lands and Fisheries if it is the intention of the Irish Land Commission to take over for distribution amongst the many small landholders in the districts the following lands on the Earl of Kingston estate: townland of Corabeg and Lurgaboy, in the parish of Kilronan, townland of Derrintomy (occupied by W.H. Lynn), in the parish of Ardearne, Boyle.

The Land Commission have under consideration the question of the acquisition of lands on the Kingston estate, near Kilronan, including the lands of Carrowbeg and Lurgaboy.

The latter part of the Deputy's question would appear to refer to that part of the lands of Derreenatawny containing 25a. 2r. 20p., in the occupation of William Henry Lynn on the estate of Minnie F. Cairns and others (Record No. S 1235). The holding in question has been included in the list of Vested Holdings published in respect of this estate under the 1931 Act, and the question of its resumption will be considered by the Land Commission when they are dealing with the estate.
