asked the Minister for Lands and Fisheries whether he will state if it is the intention of the Irish Land Commission to distribute immediately amongst uneconomic holders and landless people in the area the Croker Estate at Grange, Co. Limerick, which has been in the possession of the Land Commission for several years.
Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Croker Estate (Co. Limerick).
The Land Commission expect to be in a position to divide the untenanted lands on the Croker Estate at an early date.
Mr. Crowley
Would the Parliamentary Secretary state what he means by "at an early date"? I asked him about these lands twelve months ago.
Probably in a few months.
The Parliamentary Secretary has no sense of time.
This has been a difficult estate to deal with. Since the negotiations in connection with the price were completed a considerable time ago, difficulties have arisen. These difficulties have been practically settled now, and it should be possible to bring this scheme into operation within the next few months or so.
Mr. Crowley
Is it the intention of the Land Commission to let the place for grazing again?
No, it is not the present intention to do anything of the kind.
