asked the Minister for Finance if he will state (1) the net receipts for the year ended 31st March, 1932, and (2) the estimated receipts for the year ending 31st March, 1933, based on the rates in force last year, in respect of the following heads of excise duty:—Beer duty, spirit duty, entertainments, betting duty, spirits retailers' licences, matches, dog licences, firearms certificates, brewers' licences, table waters, and the total under other headings.

The figures of the receipts under the various heads of duty at present available are only approximate. I would ask the Deputy to await the publication of the annual finance accounts which will be duly presented to the Dáil and which will contain particulars of the gross and net receipts of duty under each head.

Estimates of receipts for the current year under the various heads are not published. Such estimates as are made are for departmental use only and no good purpose would be served by their publication.
