Vol. 43 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Extension of Fishing Slip near Kilcrohane

asked the Minister for Lands and Fisheries if he is aware that representations have been made on several occasions for an extension of a slip at Tracloush fishing station, Kilcrohane, Co. Cork, and that an engineer from his Department visited the place in 1930 and promised to have the work carried out at an early date; whether in view of the fact that 50 per cent. of the fishing is done by night and that the place is very much exposed to the Atlantic, which presents a grave danger to fishermen waiting for incoming tides in bad weather he will now recommend the carrying out of this very necessary work.

The construction of an extension to the landing facilities at Tracloush is under consideration and a decision is being expedited.
