Vol. 43 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Limerick Flour Mills.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if, in view of the restrictions he intends to place on the extension of the flour mills in Limerick and the consequent holding up or possible abandonment of the harbour development at Limerick, he will reconsider his policy on that matter and permit the projected extension of the mills and thus ensure the carrying out of the harbour development which will give much needed employment.

The policy of the Government in relation to the flour milling industry was decided upon after full consideration and is not open to modification in the manner suggested by the Deputy.

Has the Minister considered that the Limerick Harbour Scheme may have to be counted another casualty?

Not necessarily.

But very likely?

Not in the least likely.
