Vol. 43 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Saorstát Minister for Germany.

asked the Minister for External Affairs if it is proposed soon to accredit an Irish Minister to the President of the German Reich.

The question of appointing a Minister to the vacant post in Berlin is under consideration.

I have asked is it proposed soon to make an appointment?

The period has not been abnormally long so far. I would prefer before filling the appointment to take general stock of the situation.

May I take it that it is not proposed soon to make an appointment?

I do not think the Deputy is entitled to assume that.

Will we have another special emissary sent out at considerable expense to report on the matter?

If I feel it is necessary, yes.

Will considerations of economy be borne in mind?

Considerations of economy are always borne in mind.
