Harness and harness leather. The preferential rate was 15 per cent., which is being increased to 25 per cent.
Does this apply to second-hand harness?
It does.
Can the Minister give any information as to the volume of second-hand harness coming in?
It is considerable. As a matter of fact, 25 per cent. would not be adequate to stop the importation of second-hand harness. It would require very much more to do it, but it has been decided not to take any special action in regard to second-hand harness as such, so the duty upon harness leather has been increased by ten per cent. and that will apply all-round including second-hand harness.
