Vol. 44 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Moorepark Lands (Cork).

asked the Minister for Lands and Fisheries if he has received any application for, or if he will consider the division of the lands of Moorepark, Kilworth, Fermoy, into economic holdings, and if he will see that the said lands will be available for distribution at an early date.

The lands of Moore-park, to which the Deputy refers, appear to be State lands coming under Article XI. of the Constitution of Saorstát Eireann and the Land Commission have no power to acquire them for division.

Is the Minister aware that there was a proposal from the Cork County Council to have the lands divided and hutments erected? Will the Minister consider that proposal from the County Council?

The Land Commission have no power to acquire these lands.
