Vol. 45 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - West Cork Slate Quarries—Development Grants.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will state when he proposes to release the grants suggested for the development of slate quarries at Droumsta, Drimoleague and Curraghalickey, Drimagh, Dunmanway, County Cork, and the amount of the grant in each case.

The arrangements made in all cases for grants for mineral development provide for the recoupment of vouched expenditure incurred by the person undertaking the development on behalf of the Minister for Industry and Commerce. In the cases in which the Deputy is interested sanction has been given by my Department for the recoupment of vouched expenditure

(a) up to a maximum of £300 at Drimoleague, County Cork, and

(b) up to a maximum of £200 at Curraghalickey, Dunmanway, County Cork.

I am informed by the Department of Industry and Commerce that final arrangements have been made with the persons proposing to develop the deposits, and that instructions have been given to them to proceed with the work.
