Vol. 46 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Minor Relief Works in Laoighis-Offaly.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will state the total amounts allocated to date for the purpose of carrying out minor relief works in the counties of (1) Laoighis, (2) Offaly, together with the number of men employed on such works for the week ended February 18th, 1933.

The amounts allocated to date for the purpose of carrying out Minor Relief Schemes in the Counties of Laoighis and Offaly are £3,392 and £3,147 respectively.

Returns of the number of men employed in these counties for the week ended 18th February, 1933, are not available. The number of men employed under the Minor Relief Schemes for the fortnight ended 28th January, 1933, was 115 in Laoighis and 177 in Offaly.

Is the Parliamentary Secretary aware that the amount allocated to both counties is lower than the increased amount paid for home assistance for the period referred to?

The Parliamentary Secretary is aware that that is an entirely different question.
