Vol. 46 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Upperchurch (Tipp.) Funeral.

asked the Minister for Justice if he is yet in a position to state whether at a funeral at Upperchurch, Co. Tipperary, on the 19th February three volleys were discharged over the grave, and if so, whether he will state by whom these volleys were fired, the number and make of the weapons used and whether these weapons were lawfully in the possession of the parties who discharged them and whether they were lawfully used on the occasion.

The police are still pursuing inquiries in this case. I cannot, at the present moment, add anything to the reply given by the President last Wednesday to a question on the same subject.

Can the Minister form any opinion as to when the inquiries are likely to come to a conclusion?

I cannot say at the moment.
