The total amount allocated for repairs to labourers' cottages in the Laoighis County Health District for the year ending 31st March, 1933, was £3,000.

In July, 1931, the Board of Health formulated a general scheme for the repair of labourers' cottages in the county health district. The scheme provided for the repair of cottages by (a) direct labour, and (b) contract.

Since the initiation of the scheme 112 cottages were repaired by contract at £460 14s. 9d., and 828 cottages were repaired by direct labour at £6,769 14s. 0d., making £4 2s. 3d. and £8 3s. 6d. per cottage for contract and direct labour respectively.

Under the direct labour scheme materials to the value of £1,440 were used, carrying costs amounting to £310, and a sum of £5,020 was paid in wages.
