Vol. 46 No. 8

Public Business. - Message from Seanad (Oireachtas Library).

The following Message was received from the Seanad:—
Seanad Eireann has passed the following Resolution:—
"That the Seanad agrees that it is expedient that a Joint Committee, consisting of five members of the Dáil and five members of the Seanad, be set up to assist and advise the Ceann Comhairle and the Cathaoirleach in the direction and control of the Oireachtas Library."

I move:—

Go mbunuítear Co-Choiste a bheidh có-dhéanta de chúigear ball den Dáil agus de chúigear ball den tSeanad do bhunú chun congnamh agus comhairle do thabhairt don Cheann Comhairle agus don Chathaoirleach i dtreoradh agus i stiúradh Leabharlainn an Oireachtais.

That a Joint Committee, consisting of five members of the Dáil and five members of the Seanad, be set up to assist and advise the Ceann Comhairle and the Cathaoirleach in the direction and control of the Oireachtas Library.

Before we proceed with the next business, could the Minister for Finance say whether there is any chance of getting the Estimates? We were promised them yesterday and told that they might be here this morning, but they are not here yet. It is practically impossible for us to discuss some of these matters without having detailed information on the various Votes.

Yes, I understand, but, as I have already indicated to the House, a certain number of uncorrected copies were sent to those Deputies who were taken as being representative of the various Parties in the House.

Corrected or uncorrected?

They are proof copies. I understand that the printers will not be able to let us have the volume in its final form until Monday. They will be supplied, therefore, to Deputies on Monday.
