Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Bounties on Agricultural Products.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will state the total amount of money paid to date in respect of the bounties on the export of agricultural products from the Irish Free State and if he will state the amount of bounty so paid for each commodity.

The total amount paid to date by the Department of Agriculture from the Emergency Fund in respect of bounties on the export of agricultural products is £994,981, viz:—

£994,981

In addition, £296,161 has been paid to date in respect of bounties on exports of butter, cream, etc., out of levies collected under the Dairy Produce (Price Stabilisation) Act, 1932.

Arising out of the reply, will the Minister say why no bounties are being given in the case of sheep and horses?

I replied to that on Question 28.

The Minister evaded Question 28. He gave no answer to the question as to why sheep and horses are being left out.
