Vol. 46 No. 15

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Killursa Co-operative Farming Society Estate.

asked the Minister for Lands and Fisheries whether he is aware that the estate of the Killursa Co-operative Farming Society, Headford, County Galway, was divided by the Land Commission in the year 1929, that the tenant purchasers of this estate paid cash to the Land Commission for their houses, and that their holdings are not yet vested; and further if he will state what is the cause of the delay in vesting the holdings and whether he will take steps to have the vesting expedited.

This estate includes a number of small plots, sites of houses, etc., held under weekly or yearly tenancies and until the purchase moneys of these tenancies are lodged in cash agreements to purchase cannot be signed in respect thereof. The society has not been dissolved pending the settlement of the question of these tenancies, but when this matter has been completed and agreements to purchase signed, the dissolution of the society will take place. The parcels, including those in respect of which cash payments have been lodged, can then be revested in the tenant purchasers.
