Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Imports of Yeast.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will state (1) the total quantity of foreign yeast imported into the Saorstát for the period from 11th to 14th May, 1933, inclusive; (2) the countries of origin of such foreign yeast, and (3) the amount of duty paid in respect of the yeast imported from each of the said countries.

(1) The total quantity of yeast imported was 89 cwts. 3 qrs. and 14 lbs. during the period 11th to 14th May, 1933.

(2) Particulars are not available to enable the quantity imported to be segregated according to the countries of origin. The total quantity imported was consigned from Great Britain.

(3) The total duty paid during the period 11th to 14th May, 1933, on imported yeast was £71 13s. 10d. and again particulars are not available to enable this amount to be segregated according to countries of origin.
