Vol. 49 No. 15

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Unemployment in Ennis.

Mr. Burke

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health if he has received a copy of memorial signed by 300 business and professional people and clergy in the town of Ennis, asking the Government for a grant towards the relief of the destitute unemployed in that town, and if he will take immediate steps to have some relief grant started.

The memorial to which the Deputy refers has not been received in this Department. The preparation of a scheme of public health works has been under consideration by the commissioner and when finally approved the allocation of a grant towards the cost thereof will be considered.
