Vol. 49 No. 18

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Tralee Disturbances.

asked the Minister for Justice whether it is the intention of the Government to bring any charges of assault, wounding, possession of arms, intimidation, unlawful assembly, conspiracy or riot in connection with the scenes at Tralee on October 6th, and to have such charges, or any of them, tried before the Military Tribunal under the Constitution (Amendment No. 17) Act.

Police enquiries into the matter in question are proceeding. I am not yet in a position to lay before the Attorney-General the material which he would require in order to direct prosecutions of particular individuals. The Deputy may take it that the Government will use every endeavour to have the guilty persons brought to justice.

Not being satisfied with that answer, I desire to give notice that I will raise this matter to-night on the motion for the adjournment.
