asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will state the total number of unemployment insurance books current on the 1st October, 1932, and on the 1st October, 1933, in each of the following employment sub-districts:—Ballina, Dungloe, Sligo and Listowel.

The number of unemployment books current on the 2nd October, 1932, and on the corresponding date in 1933 in the districts named in the question were:—

Can the Minister say if these figures indicate an increase or a decrease in employment in these centres?

They indicate that the number of people in insurable employment in these districts has considerably increased.

That is the number of persons in insurable employment at the present moment?

On the 1st October this year as against 1st October last year.
