I have already indicated the Government's decision in the matter to the Irish National Teachers' Organisation at conferences held on the 24th and 26th instant. These decisions embrace a revision of the Teachers Pension Rules and a proportionate reduction in the salaries and other remuneration of teachers, with effect from the 1st April next. The new Teachers Pension Rules are being framed under the Teachers Superannuation Act, 1928, and will be laid before both Houses of the Oireachtas before the Easter Recess.
