Vol. 51 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - J.A.M.'s and Lay Assistants in Convent and Monastery Schools.

asked the Minster for Education whether he can state the number of recognised junior assistant mistresses and lay assistants in convent and monastery schools respectively, who resigned from the service of the Department of Education during the period April 1st, 1922, to February 28th, 1934, and who, had the present pension regulations applied to such teachers, would become entitled on their resignation to the receipt of a pension.

The preparation of the statistics necessary to enable a reply to be given to this question will take some time. I shall communicate with the Deputy when the material has been collected and examined.
