Vol. 51 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Annagry Factory.

asked the Minister for Lands and Fisheries if he will state why the factory at Annagry has been closed down, and if he expects to be in a position to reopen it in the near future with a view to providing employment in that area in the Gaeltacht.

The making of poplin at Annagry was suspended because the results obtained did not appear to justify the expenditure involved, and the future position is under consideration.

Might I ask the Parliamentary Secretary if the same consideration is to be given to this factory as was given to the factory at Crolly, in respect of which I got an undertaking several times to have it opened, and it has not been yet done?
