Vol. 54 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Cork Shooting Cases.

asked the Minister for Justice if he will state whether he has caused any inquiry to be made into the circumstances in which a certain young man was shot at in Oliver Plunket Street, Cork, on Saturday night, the 3rd November, and if he will state if the person guilty of the shooting has been identified and charged.

The shooting in this case would appear to have been accidental, and neither the injured party nor his two companions who were present on the occasion are inclined to help the police, and all three have refused to make any statement. In the circumstances I am advised that there is no evidence to support a criminal charge.
