Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Arrests and Releases.

asked the Minister for Justice if he will state for each county and county borough the number of persons arrested between the 1st January, 1934, and the 31st October, 1934, or other latest date for which the information is available, and released without any charge being made against them.

asked the Minister for Justice if he will state for each county and county borough, the number of occasions between the 1st January, 1934, and the 31st October, 1934, or other latest date for which the information is available, on which there was public obstruction of persons collecting rates and land annuities, or other public moneys; the number of these occasions upon which persons were charged with offences relating to this obstruction; the number of persons so charged, and the number of persons convicted of such offences.

asked the Minister for Justice if he will state for each county and county borough the number of occasions upon which public meetings were unlawfully interfered with by force between the 1st January, 1934, and the 31st October, 1934, or other latest date for which the information is available; the number of these occasions on which convictions were secured against the persons responsible for the offences, and the number of persons so convicted.

asked the Minister for Justice if he will state for each county and county borough the total number of attacks made on dances and other recreation parties between the 1st January, 1934, and the 31st October, 1934, or other latest date for which the information is available; the number of cases in which convictions have been secured against the parties responsible for the offences; the number of these occurrences in which firearms are reported to have been carried by the attacking party; the number of such particular cases in which convictions have been secured against the parties responsible; and the number of firearms carried on these occasions which have been recovered by the police.

asked the Minister for Justice if he will state the total number of cases in each county in which (1) recreation halls have been destroyed, (2) recreation halls have been damaged, (3) other recreational equipment destroyed or damaged between the 1st January, 1934, and the 31st October, 1934, or other latest date for which the information is available; the number of these occurrences in which firearms are reported to have been carried by attacking parties, the number of cases in which convictions have been secured against the parties responsible, the number of persons so convicted, and the number of firearms carried on the occasion recovered by the police.

In the case of Questions Nos. 11 to 15, inclusive, I have not had sufficient notice to enable me to supply the statistical information for which the Deputy asks. I have taken steps, however, to procure this information and will see that it is communicated to the Deputy when it becomes available.
