Vol. 55 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Pig Iron from Irish Coal.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce whether his attention has been drawn to Press reports relating to the erection of plant at Bullock Harbour, Dalkey, for the extraction of pig iron and chemical products of industrial value from Irish coal, and whether, as reported in the Press, financial assistance will be given by the State towards the development of this project.

I am obliged to the Deputy for drawing my attention to these reports. There is no foundation whatever for any suggestion that the Government has promised financial or other assistance in connection with this particular enterprise.
