Vol. 55 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Disbandment of Volunteer Reserve Battalion.

asked the Minister for Defence if he will state whether the 1st City of Dublin Battalion Volunteer Reserve has been disbanded; and, if so, from what date; what payments are owing to the members of the battalion for the year ended September, 1934; for the months of October and November, 1934; and when these payments will be made.

The reserve—Volunteer class—of which the 1st (City of Dublin) Battalion forms part is in process of disbandment.

The amount of the training grant due to members of the 1st (City of Dublin) Battalion in respect of the year ended 30th September, 1934, is determined by regulation. It is hoped to make all payments due to members of the battalion within the next fortnight.

No training was ordered for the battalion during the months of October and November, 1934, and no payments are due in respect of this period.
