Vol. 55 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Wages of Women Cleaners.

asked the Minister for Finance whether he has received representations for an increase in the wages of women cleaners in the Government offices; whether he has considered these representations; and, if so, whether he is in a position to make a statement in regard to the matter.

Representations have been received on behalf of women cleaners employed in Government Departments for increased pay and for improved conditions of employment. Some concessions have already been granted. The general claim for increased pay is under consideration, and it is hoped to announce a decision in the matter in the near future.
