Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Redemption of National Loan.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will state (a) the amount of the 5 per cent. National Loan which falls due for redemption in 1935, and (b) what steps, if any, are being taken by the Government to provide for the redemption of the amount due this year.

The date for the redemption of the First National Loan is the 1st December, 1945, but the Government has the right to redeem the Loan in whole or in part on or after the 1st December, 1935, on giving three months' notice of their intention to do so. Due notice will be given to the public of the Government's intentions in this regard.
