Vol. 56 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Double Income Tax Agreement.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will state the effect on the revenue of the State of the arrangements entered into with Great Britain respecting relief from the payment of double income tax.

It is not possible to give any figures showing the effect on the Saorstát revenue of the agreement in respect of double income tax concluded between this country and Great Britain in 1926, because there are various factors to be taken into account which are incalculable. I am, however, satisfied that on the whole the conclusion of the agreement was a desirable step, and was advantageous from the point of view of the Saorstát.
