Vol. 56 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Unemployment Insurance Benefit Claim.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce why the claim of Hugh Ferry, Meenaduff, Dunbeg, County Donegal, for unemployment insurance benefit, lodged at Dungloe Labour Exchange in October, 1934, has not been disposed of.

Hugh Ferry, Meenaduff, Bunbeg, County Donegal, claimed unemployment insurance benefit on the 17th October last. His claim was disallowed by the insurance officer under Section 7 (1) (ii) of the Unemployment Insurance Act, 1920, on the grounds that Mr. Ferry was not unemployed. Mr. Ferry lodged an appeal to the Court of Referees against that decision and the appeal was due for hearing by the Letterkenny Court of Referees on Monday, the 13th instant. The recommendation of the Court of Referees when received will be considered by the insurance officer without delay and Mr. Ferry will be notified of his decision at the earliest possible date.
