Vol. 56 No. 11

Tuesday Sittings.

I move:

That until the adjournment for the Summer Recess the Dáil sit later than 9 p.m. on Tuesdays and that the Order for the adjournment be taken not later than 10.30 p.m. on those days.

Can the Parliamentary Secretary give the House any information as to when the adjournment for the Summer Recess is likely to take place?

We hope that if possible it will take place very near the end of June.

Can the Parliamentary Secretary say if it is the intention to conclude all stages of the Courts of Justice Bill before the adjournment for the summer holidays, and whether it is intended to proceed with the Insurance Bill?

That is a matter for the Minister for Justice.

But, surely, it has a very distinct bearing on the Motion that has been moved, that the Dáil should sit four days a week up to the date of the Summer Recess.

I hope to have all stages of the Courts of Justice Bill concluded in the present Session.

That is the Minister's intention in connection with his Bill. Would the Minister for Industry and Commerce say whether it is the intention to proceed with the Insurance Bill and, if so, when it will be circulated?

The intention is to proceed with it, and I hope to have it circulated soon. There are certain difficulties in having the drafting of it completed at this time of the year on account of the pressure of financial business.

I take it that the intention is to get the Insurance Bill through before the adjournment for the Summer Recess?

If the Dáil is so willing.

Motion put and agreed to.
