Vol. 56 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Accidents in 1934.

asked the Minister for Justice if he will state the number of (a) fatal and (b) non-fatal accidents reported in 1934, and if he will state further the number of (a) juveniles and (b) adults injured arising out of such accidents.

I assume that the Deputy is referring to traffic accidents. The figures are as follows:—

Accidents which resulted in personal injury:—Fatal accidents, 187: persons killed, 191. Non-fatal accidents, 2,934; persons injured, 3,330.

Of the 191 persons killed, 45 were children under 12 years of age. It is not possible to state the number of children injured in the non-fatal accidents.

There were 4,426 accidents reported which did not result in personal injury.
