Vol. 57 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Wages of Women Cleaners in Government Offices.

asked the Minister for Finance whether he has considered the representations made to him for an increase in the wages of women cleaners in the Government offices and whether he is now in a position to make a statement in regard to the matter.

The representations made on behalf of women cleaners employed in Government Departments for increased pay are still under consideration. It is not, however, proposed to take any decision in the matter pending the receipt of the report of the Commission of Inquiry into the Civil Service, which, it is hoped, will be available at an early date.
