Vol. 57 No. 10

Written Answer. - Puerperal Fever.

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health whether he can furnish particulars of the incidence per thousand births of puerperal fever (including septicæmia) for each county in Saorstát Eireann for each year since this disease was made compulsorily notifiable.

The occurrence of puerperal fever was made compulsorily notifiable throughout Saorstát Eireann by the Local Government Act, 1925. The records of notifications prior to the year 1931 are, however, incomplete. The particulars asked for are being prepared as from the year 1931 and will be sent to the Deputy as soon as possible.
