Vol. 58 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Clondalkin Paper Mills.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he has any information regarding the reopening of the Clondalkin Paper Mills; and, if so, if he can state when these mills will be reopened and the number of people likely to secure employment there.

Proposals have for some time been under consideration for the reorganisation and expansion of the paper-making industry in the Saorstát, but it is not yet possible to make a definite statement as to date of entry into production or the number of workers likely to be employed.

Can the Minister say if all the old machinery has been removed from the mill?

I can give the Deputy no information on that point.
