Vol. 59 No. 15

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Secondary Teachers' Superannuation Fund.

asked the Minister for Finance whether he has yet caused an actuarial inquiry into the Secondary Teachers' Superannuation Fund and the assets and liabilities thereof, as provided by Rule 10 (2) of Statutory Rules and Orders, 1929, No. 19, Secondary Teachers' Superannuation Scheme, 1929, and if he will state when the results of the inquiry will be communicated to the secondary teachers.

The actuarial inquiry into the Secondary Teachers' Pension Fund contemplated by paragraph 10 (2) of the Secondary Teachers' Superannuation Scheme, 1929, is being carried out at the moment. It is not yet possible to say when the results of the inquiry will be available.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will state (a) the amount of teachers' contributions paid into the Secondary Teachers' Superannuation Fund for each year since 1st August, 1929: (b) the amount of schools' contributions paid for each year since 1st August, 1929; (c) the amount paid into the fund by the Minister for each year since 1st August, 1929; (d) the amount invested from the fund in each such year, the funds in which sums were invested, and the annual income derived from each; (e) the number of teachers who retired on pension in each year, and the total amount of pensions paid to them; (f) the number of teachers who withdrew from membership of the scheme for each such year, and the total amount paid to them in short service gratuities; (g) the number of teachers who died during each such year before they were eligible to retire on pension, and the total amount paid to their legal personal representatives.
