Vol. 59 No. 15

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Application For Blind Pension.

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health whether he is aware that James Traynor, 8 Eccles Street, Dublin, applied for a blind pension; that his claim was duly investigated, and allowed by the Dublin County Board Pension Committee on the 24th October, 1935; that the pensions officer appealed against this decision, and Mr. Traynor's unemployment assistance of 9/- per week, his sole means of existence, has been withheld, pending the Minister's review and decision in the case; if he is further aware that Mr. Traynor is now completely destitute; and if he will now state the decision in this case.

The appeal in this case has been decided and it has been determined that the claimant is entitled to a pension at the rate of seven shillings (7/-) a week as from the 7th September, 1935, up to and including the 24th idem, and to a pension at the rate of 10/- a week as from the latter date.
