Vol. 59 No. 15

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Rents of Tenement Dwellings.

asked the Minister for Justice whether in consultation with the Minister for Local Government and Public Health he has reached a conclusion as to whether a commission should be appointed to inquire into the exorbitant rents charged for tenement rooms and other dwellings to unemployed persons in Dublin, and if he is now in a position to indicate the terms of reference issued to such commission and the date on which it is proposed the inquiry should open, and further, whether he will state if it is proposed to proceed by way of Departmental inquiry or whether representative persons will be invited to serve on the commission.

In reply to this question, I would refer the Deputy to the terms of the motion which appears in my name in this day's Order Paper and which I propose to move during the present week.
