Vol. 60 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - National Schools in the Saorstát.

asked the Minister for Education if he will state the names of the National Schools (with county and roll number in each case) which are situated in the Fior-Ghaeltacht, the Gaeltacht, and the Breac-Ghaeltacht, respectively.

The total numbers of schools in districts scheduled as Fior-Ghaeltacht, Gaeltacht and Breac-Ghaeltacht, are respectively 152, 254 and 681, 1,087 schools in all, or nearly one-fifth of the total number of schools in the Saorstát.

The preparation of lists giving the names and roll numbers of the schools in question, by counties, would involve an expenditure of time and labour which would not be justified. If the Deputy requires information regarding particular schools I shall arrange to have it supplied.
