Vol. 60 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Limerick Unemployment Assistance Claim.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will state on what grounds the means of James Hourigan, of Gamels Court, Lower Gerald Griffin Street, Limerick, has been assessed at 10/- on his qualification certificate, thereby depriving him of the right to any benefit under the Unemployment Assistance Act, 1933, and if in view of the fact that this man has no source of income, he will have his claim to unemployment assistance further investigated.

It has been determined in accordance with the Unemployment Assistance Acts, 1933-1935, that James Hourigan, of 2 Gamels Court, Lower Gerald Griffin Street, Limerick, who resides with his father, enjoys a benefit or privilege within the meaning of Section 13 (1) (e) of the Unemployment Assistance Act, 1933, of which the weekly value corresponding to the yearly value calculated in accordance with the Act is 10/-. The application has been duly determined in accordance with the Acts and the applicant has no further right of appeal. If fresh facts disclosing any material alteration in the circumstances of the applicant are furnished, the application will be re-examined and determined in the light of such fresh facts.

What is the income of the father, as returned to the Minister, in this case?

That is a separate question and it is one which I do not think I should answer in any event.

It has something to do with the question.
