Vol. 60 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Unemployment Assistance Act Order.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce whether an Order in respect of the year 1936 was made under Section 4 (3) of the Unemployment Assistance Act, 1933; and, if so, on what date; whether it is intended that such Order will be laid on the Table of the House; and, if so, when.

Dr. Ryan

The Unemployment Assistance (Employment Periods) Order was made on the 10th February, 1936, and was laid on the Table of the House on the 29th February, 1936.

Can the Minister arrange that in future there will be a smaller gap between the making of an Order and laying it on the Table of the House, so that the Legislature may be informed at the same time as the broadcasting station and the newspapers are informed?
