Vol. 60 No. 14

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Military Service Pensions.

asked the Minister for Defence if he is aware that there are a number of applicants for military service pensions in the Longford Brigade area who are willing to appear before the board in Dublin to give evidence in support of their claims, and that some have signified their willingness to attend, and that the board has not as yet heard any of them; if he can state what is the cause of the delay, and if he is aware that there are many applicants in a poor way financially and that failure to hear and decide cases of this sort is inflicting hardships.

The organisation records of the Longford Brigade have not yet been furnished to the referee. The procedure to be adopted regarding the submission of the necessary records, and the necessity for having these in hand before applications from the brigade area could be dealt with, has already been explained to representatives of the brigade.
