Vol. 61 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Date of County Dublin Elections.

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health if it is the intention to hold elections in June, 1936, for the County Dublin County Council and the Dun Laoghaire Borough Council.

The elections referred to will be held this year pursuant to the provisions of the Local Government (Dublin) Act, 1930, on a date to be fixed by the County Council.

Is there not an option within certain limits?

Will Dublin County Borough elections be held on the same date?

Not necessarily on the same date.

Is it not optional, within certain limits, for the two bodies to fix a date?

Will the Minister consider the advisability of holding these elections in the County Dublin in the same way and according to the same plan as the elections held in Germany last Sunday in order to secure Deputy Belton's return?

We shall give the minority a chance.

Coming events cast their shadows before.
