Vol. 61 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Payment For Free Beef Supplies.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he is aware that a grave hardship has been inflicted on Messrs. Cassells, Longford, and Mills, Abbeyshrule, Colehill, by his refusal to pay the amounts due on vouchers for beef supplied under the Slaughter of Cattle and Sheep Acts and if he will state when he proposes to pay the amounts due or claimed by these victuallers on the said vouchers.

Deductions were made from amounts claimed by the victuallers named, as investigation showed that goods had been supplied other than beef of the kind or quality required to be given by the Slaughter of Cattle and Sheep Acts and regulations made thereunder. It has been decided that no further payment will be made to these victuallers in respect of the claims to which the Deputy refers.
